A uniquely entertaining device made from a useless Maxtor 6E040L0 Diamondcrash hard disk. (Every one of these I've ever purchased or obtained has failed, which is unusually bad, even for Maxtor.) I have a much nicer one made from a failed Quantum XP32150 SCSI drive. It has several platters and a much stronger spindle motor.
